Ready to stop the cycle of regret and pain?

Jessica Brohmer, Grief Therapist in California

You remember a time when you weren’t having panic attacks at the grocery store, staying up hours past your bedtime thinking about all the things you could have done differently, or avoiding anything that reminds you of your loss… but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?

You’ve come to the right place.

I’m Jessica, and I help people just like you: people who have it within them to grieve well but just need the support to get there.

I help my clients find resilience, groundedness, and peace by equipping them with the tools they need to address the unhealthy and unhelpful thoughts and feelings that come up around loss.

Many of today’s solutions for grief focus on helping you move on by moving past the loss, leading so many grieving people to feel like healing requires them to forget their loved one or like “fixing” grief means never missing them again. That approach doesn’t match what we know about neurobiology and attachment- you can work through the pain of your loss without having to let go of that part of your story, and grief is a lifelong process.

First, we look at your grieving process so we can identify the thoughts, feelings, and physical symptoms that are causing you so much pain. Then, we can work together on skills and tools to help you make changes so you can have relief. Through our work together, you’ll be equipped with holistic skills to grieve in a healthy way and create a path forward that honors your loss.

I am dedicated to helping people grieve well.

My training as a grief counseling specialist means I have the expertise you need and deserve when creating a healing space for your grief that reflects current neurobiology and therapy techniques to help. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who gets what it means to be a person struggling with regret, anxiety, and trauma from the pain of your loss, right?

I get it because there is nothing quite like the finality and ambiguity of grief. I know that sometimes it feels like the only way to escape the pain is if you were dead, and that feels like a scary thought too. I have ten years of experience helping people understand their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist, you’ll get someone who understands.
