Online Grief Therapy for Work-Related Loss

Have you lost your job, felt dissatisfied with your life direction, or lost your passion and creativity?

Maybe you were fired or perhaps you quit your job to go a new direction. You may be feeling dissatisfied, blocked, or like you don’t have a sense of purpose anymore. Perhaps you depend on your creativity and it’s just not flowing like it used to.

When your work is connected to your sense of identity, disruptions and losses can feel like you’ve lost your sense of yourself:

  • Feeling aimless and without purpose

  • Loss of your social connections from the workplace

  • Struggling to stay focused and productive without a sense of meaning

Therapy can help job loss and creative block

It may feel impossible now, but you can feel renewed in your sense of purpose. You can still pursue your dreams and goals. You can recover your creative spark and passion for your work. And I can help you get there.

Therapy for work-related losses helps:

  • Develop an internal sense of self that doesn’t rely on a job for identity

  • Find a new way to self-motivate

  • Regain your sense of purpose, creativity, and satisfaction

  • Explore existential questions about life, work, and your relationship to yourself and your productivity

I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to therapy for job loss and creative block comes from a place of hope: you have all the resources you need to get through this time, and I can help you draw from that inner strength.

It’s time to regain your spark.

Frequently Asked Questions about therapy for work-related losses:

What are therapy sessions like?

In the beginning, we’ll talk about what feels like it’s missing in your life or what happened that led up to you losing your job. We’ll explore the big existential questions that come up about your purpose, passions, goals, and dreams. We can talk about some things together in our sessions, and I also provide exercises for you to practice on your own outside of therapy to improve your experience.

How do I know if therapy will work for me?

While I can’t make guarantees, I have seen therapy be incredibly helpful. I’ve worked with people through job transitions to help them find a new career that’s a great fit for their personality and needs. I’ve helped creative artists, poets, musicians, composers, actors, and writers to overcome creative block and develop a new relationship to their art.

How do we get started?

We’ll have a 15 minute consultation for us to briefly get to know each other and so I can answer any questions you have about therapy. After that conversation, you’ll get a packet of forms to complete so we can get started. Once those are done, we’ll be able to schedule our first full session.
